Yoji “Yogi” Suzuki is president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, West Virginia, Inc. (TMMWV) located in Buffalo. TMMWV produces four cylinder and V6 engines as well as automatic transmissions for Toyota vehicles.
From 2002-10, Mr. Suzuki served as general manager of machining for five years and general manager of administration for three at Toyota’s Kamigo plant in Japan.
Mr. Suzuki joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1977 as a team member in the manufacturing & engineering division at Kamigo. In 1992, he moved to Toyota’s Georgetown, Kentucky plant as a coordinator in powertrain. Four years later, he returned to Kamigo as manager for the machining division; and in 1999 he was promoted to project general manager for the manufacturing & engineering division.
Mr. Suzuki is a native of Takahama City in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. He graduated from Niigata University with a degree in precision engineering.
